We have been informed by the Seattle data center, that the entire data center is being renumbered with new IP address space. As such, we are being issued a new IP block that we are being required to switch to in the ver near future. The actual switch date is still TBD, but this is a preliminary notice so that you can prepare your custome DNS appropriately for the upcoming change.
We understand that an IP address change is not desireable, but we must change since the IP addresses we now have must be returned by the data center and will stop working in a couple weeks. We will send more specific information as the change schedule is firmed up, but wanted to send a preliminary notice to give everyone as much time to prepare as possible.
We will update all DNS we control at the time of the address migration, so all customers using Custom DNS settings will be updated automatically. We will also shorten the timeout on all DNS records we control in advance so that the DNS change will update very quickly. We will try to make any interruption to service as brief as possible. If possible, we will attempt to run both old and new IP addresss in parallel for a couple days, but we are not sure this is going to work at this time until things firm up more with the planning.
More information to come, but we expect this to happen sometime early next week most likely at this point.
